Meet Our Junior Hires

September 2024 signals a new beginning for Akeso – a time of evolution, growth and innovation to respond to the growing need for change across Healthcare systems and beyond. As part of our commitment to delivering innovative, data-driven solutions for healthcare and beyond, we are delighted to expand our team to welcome the largest ever intake to our graduate program.

Our dynamic new cohort of junior consultants and data scientists brings with them fresh perspectives and a wealth of expertise from their diverse backgrounds, from Economics to Medicine, Epidemiology to Technology, and Data Science to Life Science. Their diverse skillsets will play a pivotal role in helping us respond to the increasing demands for transformation in healthcare systems.

Our Junior Hire Profiles:

 / Dr India Porter, Junior Consultant – Holding a Medical Degree and Deans Commendation for Medicine, India’s background encompasses rigorous medical training, health data analysis and years of frontline experience. She has worked both in General Practice and NHS hospital settings, covering over 30 medical and surgical specialties.

/ Tanisha Kramer, Junior Consultant – Highly skilled in infectious disease epidemiology and public health research, Tanisha has developed strong research and problem-solving abilities through her work. Her expertise includes data analysis, operational improvement, and crafting effective disease prevention strategies.

/ Amanda Chan, Junior Consultant – Amanda brings robust industry experience in MedTech and both public and private Healthcare sectors. Prior to Akeso, Amanda completed her MPhil in clinical stem cell biology at Cambridge University, where she honed her analytical, project management, and professional communication skills. 

/ Anna Grigg, Junior Consultant – Brings industry experience in risk and Healthcare consulting. Anna holds a degree in Economics and has experience developing economic growth models and in advanced health economics research methodologies.

/ Ruairidh Livingstone, Junior Data Scientist – With a dual background in consulting and data science from Big4 and FinTech, Ruairidh has developed, tested and optimised advanced statistical models in the Investment, Technology and Environmental sectors.

/ Maheen Akbar, Junior Consultant – Maheen brings frontline experience in both public and private Healthcare, as well as Life Science consulting; her proficiencies lie within business case development, strategy, commercialisation, market access and project management. Through her time in the world’s largest health & benefits consultancy firm, she also leverages her clear understanding of workforce health, wellbeing, and insurance.

/ Nick Thorn, Junior Consultant – Brings a deep understanding of the healthcare sector, alongside meticulous analytical abilities including demand modelling and operational improvement from his Master’s in Business Analytics.

/ Rio Carasco, Junior Data Scientist – Skilled in data analytics and advanced mathematics, with prior experience in algorithmic development, modelling and optimisation experience in the Quantum Engineering space and for the Ministry of Defence.
