Meet Our Data Science Team

The expansion of our Data Science team is vital how we support our clients. Whether that be through consolidation of discrete datasets, process automation or development of complex models and visualisations, our Data Science team provide prescriptive insights to inform transformational decision-making.

Therefore, we are delighted to welcome three new data scientists to our growing team: Harry Style, Ruairidh Livingstone and Rio Carasco.

/ Harry Style, Senior Data Scientist – Highly experienced in complex data science modelling and techniques, Harry draws on his multiple years of work on projects across diverse industries to apply new ways of working to the health sector. Alongside extensive industry experience, he is qualified as an Azure Data Science Associate (DP-100), and holds degrees at Undergraduate and Master’s level in Physics from the University of Oxford.

/ Ruairidh Livingstone, Junior Data Scientist – With a dual background in consulting and data science from Big4 and FinTech, Ruairidh has developed, tested and optimised advanced statistical models in the Investment, Technology and Environmental sectors.

/ Rio Carasco, Junior Data Scientist – Skilled in data analytics and advanced mathematics, with prior experience in algorithmic development, modelling and optimisation experience in the Quantum Engineering space and for the Ministry of Defence.

Data Science Leadership:
/ Dr Luke Taylor: Lead Data Scientist – Luke is a Managing Consultant and Head of Analytics who has over 7 years’ experience in delivering complex analytical projects that derive insights which enable informed operational and clinical decision-making and performance optimisation. Before joining Akeso, Luke led complex analytics projects as part of IQVIA’s think tank and worked for over 5 years at EY and Deloitte, culminating in him being the public sector health analytics lead for consulting at Deloitte. Luke’s background is as a Clinical Scientist specialising in Neuro-Trauma and Mathematics. He completed his PhD and MSc in Mathematical Biology and Biophysical Chemistry at The University of Warwick.

Dr Luke Taylor shares his excitement for the Data Science team expansion:

“This year, we’ve seen a growing demand for projects that require a blend of consulting and analytics expertise. This reflects the future trajectory of the healthcare landscape shaped by the post-COVID era, changing demands of the system and the need for data-driven decision-making. They are joining us at a pivotal moment for our clients, the healthcare system, and the firm, and we look forward to the seeing incredible work they will deliver.”

/ Debora Salvado: Managing Data Scientist – Debora is an experienced senior Data Scientist who has worked with a range of private and public sector healthcare clients, across numerous clinical areas including A&E, Endoscopy and District Nursing. Since joining Akeso, Debora has delivered multiple automated tools, produced various dashboards using business intelligence software, analysed ‘Big Data’, and designed advanced models to support service planning and transformation. Debora has a PhD in Medical Physics from UCL and a background in Biomedical Engineering and Biophysics, alongside Master’s degrees in Radiation Therapy and Diagnostic Radiology.
