Junior Consultant

Akeso is looking for passionate, curious and hard-working individuals to join our high-calibre team as a Junior Consultant, a role suitable for a recent graduate or entry-level individual with no prior experience in consulting.

 

About this Opportunity

The day-to-day role of a Junior Consultant will largely involve: 

  • Working in typical project teams of 2 – 5, supporting project delivery from the outset through to project completion 
  • Conducting core quantitative and qualitative analysis of large data sets 
  • Delivering project management responsibilities with oversight from senior members of the consulting team  
  • Working collaboratively with our clients from the outset, developing strong relationships and supporting them through the project delivery 
  • Assisting and subsequently leading the development of key deliverables to design structured and coherent communication of project outputs. Examples of deliverables include strategy reports, business cases, procurement exercises and operations reviews 
  • Supporting on internal business development workstreams to support the expansion and growth of the organisation

Knowledge and Skills

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential knowledge and skills: 

  • Competence in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word 
  • Ability to work in a collaboratively in a team-environment 
  • Time management skills 
  • Problem solving skills 
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, particularly for complex ideas and concepts 
  • Quantitative and numerical reasoning ability 

Desirable knowledge and skills include: 

  • Understanding of NHS structure and landscape 
  • Leadership experience in an academic, professional, or extracurricular setting 
  • General understanding of the consulting industry 
  • Numerical analytical/statistical analysis skills 

 

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Graduated within the last 2 years or on track to graduate by role start date (recent graduate) 
  • Excellent academic track record 
  • Minimum of 2:1 University Degree (Batchelors or above) 
  • Strong A-Level results (or equivalent) 

 

Additional Requirements

  • Right to work in the UK (we are currently unable to offer visa sponsorship) 
  • Willing to travel to client site, where necessary (UK-based)

  1. First Round Interview:

If we think that you might be a good fit, we will invite you for an interview (over the phone or one-on-one at our Chancery Lane office) to understand a bit more about your background, experience and motivations for joining our team.

Interviews will be held w/c 17th June 2024

  1. Group Assessment Centre Day:

We will then invite you to our Assessment Centre Day which will involve a series of exercises to further understand your capabilities across key skills. Over the course of the day, you will have the chance to meet a number of the team so that we can make sure that you’re the right fit for us as much as we are the right fit for you!

Assessment Centre Days will be held w/c 1st July 2024

  1. Final Round Director Interview:

Finally, we will arrange a short final round interview with one of our Directors of Consulting with the aim of understanding more about you as an individual.

Final Round Interviews will be held w/c 22nd July 2024

  1. Offer & Start

If you are successful in progressing through all of the above rounds, we will make you an offer in early August 2024. The anticipated start date for the role will be the beginning of September 2024. If there are any issues with this start date, please make the hiring team aware of this.
